The Artistic Narrative
Sasha Ryabchik is a Russian-born, London-based contemporary artist whose practice explores the space between language and emotion, presence and absence, the spoken and the withheld.
Working across abstract painting and mixed media, Ryabchik has developed a visual language that brings together expressive gesture, layered colour and material experimentation. Her compositions balance deliberate mark-making with spontaneous movement, allowing emotional states to emerge without being fixed into a single interpretation.
Her artistic education began in New York, where she studied academic drawing and composition at the New York Drawing School. She later continued her studies in London at Istituto Marangoni, completing a BA in Fashion Business and Communication. Her background across art, visual culture and fashion continues to inform her sensitivity to composition, material, rhythm and spatial relationships.
Ryabchik’s work has been presented internationally through solo, duo and group exhibitions in London, Paris, New York, Moscow, St Petersburg, Tashkent, Almaty, Sofia and Novi Sad. Selected exhibitions include the solo exhibition Words Unspoken at H Gallery in Paris; Conceptional Emotions at CasildArt, London; and Beyond the Frame at Espacio Gallery, London.
Her practice has been discussed in publications including World Art News, Our Culture, Izba Arts, Magazine Art and Knightsbridge Magazine. Her works are held in private collections and have been acquired by collectors internationally.
Through painting, language and reconstructed surfaces, Ryabchik creates spaces in which emotion is not explained but experienced—leaving room for silence, ambiguity and the viewer’s own response.
